The 27-year-old striker has been plundering goals in the Bundesliga for fun this season, netting 15 times in nine league appearances.

He recently missed two games due to a hamstring injury, but came back and scored in Stuttgart’s 2-1 win over Borussia Dortmund before the international break.

His goalscoring feats in Germany have not gone unnoticed and Newcastle have an interest in trying to sign him in January.

According to German daily Bild (via Fussball Transfers), the Magpies are amongst the clubs who have made their interest known to the forward’s camp.

Eddie Howe wants to add more goals to his squad and Guirassy has emerged as a target for the club.

AC Milan and Atletico Madrid are also in the race to land Guirassy in the January transfer window.

The striker has already ruled out a move to Saudi Arabia and wants to play in one of the top European leagues if he leaves Stuttgart.

He has a €17.5m release clause in his contract if he wants to leave in January and his agents are sounding out clubs interested in him.
