The 27-year-old striker has been in sensational form this season in the Bundesliga, scoring 15 times in ten league appearances.

His goal return this term has attracted the interest of some of the biggest clubs in Europe ahead of the winter transfer window.

Manchester United have been in contact with his agents and Newcastle are also interested in signing him.

Roma are also keen on the forward, but according to Italian daily Tuttosport (via LaRoma24.it), they could struggle to put together the finances needed to sign the striker in January.

Guirassy has a €17m release clause in his contract that will become active in the winter transfer window.

While the likes of Manchester United and Newcastle can spend such a sum in January, Roma’s financial position is a bit more complicated.

For the moment, they cannot stretch their budget to spend €17m in January on one player such as Guirassy.

The Serie A giants are likely to keep their powder dry and wait until the summer to sign their targets.
