The Gunners decided against bringing in a new forward last summer after spending heavily in the transfer market.

There are concerns that Arsenal’s aim of challenging Manchester City in the title race could be thwarted by the lack of a proven goalscorer.

Arsenal are believed to be interested in Toney, who is said to be keen on leaving Brentford in the January transfer window.

But it has been claimed that currently, Arsenal are not active in the market with regards to wanting a forward in January.

For the moment, Arsenal are not looking to sign a striker when the transfer window again opens this winter.

It could change in the coming weeks based on results and performances but at the moment, Mikel Arteta is happy with his options.

There are also concerns whether Arsenal will be able to afford a player such as Toney in the winter window.

The Gunners have financial fair play concerns and might not be able to spend big when the window opens in January.
